Greetings earthlings! I hope you all have had a pleasant Easter and have gorged yourself in an array of baby animal goods!
Last week I was terribly embarrassed by my lack of knowledge when a fan messaged in with a song request, a song I did not recognise!
I ashamedly dismissed the song and did not play it, oh what a fool.
The song was 'The Beat Goes On' by Buddy Rich and what an amazing song it was!
In reconciliation this week, the song choices were all inspired by that song.
Fantastic artists old and new!
I'm sorry Nick!

I love you Paul Desmond!

Gosh. Why has it taken me so long to do this?!
Today's show focused on the amazing Paul Desmond!
Recently, I've been rather obsessed by his beautiful, spine tingly compositions. Can't get enough I tell ya!
This type of Jazz is very much the 'classic' style people often reference to - Cool Jazz - or sometimes called West Coast Jazz
He was the mastermind of the Dave Brubeck Band, worked with Chet Baker, and didn't mind the booze n drugs. Unfortunately, the brightest stars burn quickest and he passed away at the young age of 52.
His music has lived on and been ultimately influential in the history of music, with his style being used to this day.
Unforgeable, unique and so special. I love you Paul!
